PLANT - ZINNIA: REDMAN SUPER CACTUS

Super Cactus Zinnias are unique not only for their enormous blooms, which can reach up to 6 inches across, but also for their one of a kind texture! Giant Cactus Zinnias feature petals that delicately curl to give the bloom a spiked look. These flowers are stately, being a deep red and having the pointed cactus-type petals. An old favorite that has now become rare.

Zinnias are easy to grow with potentially heavy blooms that gush in color. Their petals can take different forms as single row with a visible center, numerous rows with a center that is not visible, and petals that are somewhere in-between with numerous rows but visible centers. Their flowers can also take several shapes.

Zinnias are an annual plant that preferably grows in situ from seed, but they can be transplanted. Much like daisies, zinnias prefer to have full sunlight and adequate water. In the preferred conditions they will grow quickly but are sensitive to frost and therefore will die after the first frost of autumn. Zinnias benefit from deadheading to encourage further blooming.

PRO TIP: Keep moist. Dead head flowers for longer season.
